The shape is rounded and low... like a river stone worn over time. Built without a mold or a wheel, this organic and slightly irregular form follows shapes found in nature and every curve carries the maker's hand. Raku-fired, this vessel comes out of the kiln while it's still glowing hot and goes straight into the flame and smoke... creating a result that cannot be replicated. The vase carries a deep earthy brown that turns to charcoal with a metallic sheen whenever the fire touches the surface. Fine lines of gold run across the body and catch the light. Made from stoneware, brown finish (mostly matte with some metallic accents throughout) and gold detailing. Not watertight.
