Caroline Desile

Ceramic artist, my work draws its reflections from the world of architecture and urbanism - a field in which I have evolved for some fifteen years.
Graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville, I worked at the Parisian agency TVK, reflecting on the city and its infrastructures, living environment, landscape and public spaces.
In 2018, I felt the need to find other forms of creativity and a concrete connection to matter, without obscuring what has built me up until now. This return to the material allowed me to find sensations of my childhood and my studies, when I already worked this living matter through sculpture or everyday objects.
In 2022, when I arrived in Bordeaux, what was an activity parallel to my work took on a new dimension and became my main activity.
