Caroline Desile

As a ceramic artist, my work draws its reflections from the world of architecture and urbanism- a field in which I have been involved in for fifteen years.
I graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville. Following, I worked at the Parisian agency TVK, where I reflected on the city’s infrastructures, living environment, landscape, and public spaces.
In 2018, I felt the need to find other forms of creativity; and a concrete connection to matter, without obscuring what has built me up until this point. This return to the material allowed me to find the sensations of my childhood and my studies via working through sculpture or everyday objects.
When I arrived in Bordeaux in 2022, what was an activity parallel to my work took on a new dimension and became my main activity.
