FAQ
Background
The name "Trove" is inspired by the term "treasure trove," which refers to a valuable and inspiring collection of precious items. At Trove, we see our collection as a treasure trove of unique, one-of-a-kind objects that embody beauty, artistry, and global craftsmanship. We chose the name because it reflects our mission to curate and offer extraordinary art pieces that are not just seen, but felt and experienced. "Trove" conveys the essence of discovery and rarity; we invite our clients to explore a world of hidden gems and exceptional artistry.
Careful and deliberate exploration helps us find the special objects we feature at Trove. Our team spends countless hours sourcing makers whom we believe share our values and philosophies; specifically, a respect for traditional craftsmanship, the essence of creating one-of-a-kind pieces, and sustainability. We have no limitations on location; in other words, we pride ourselves in discovering makers from all parts of the globe.
You name it... chances are we've found it! At Trove, we feature a wide range of art disciplines; our only restriction is that the object tells a unique story. We have collaborated with a number of exceptional ceramicists, glassblowers, and woodworkers from around the world who have specific styles and work philosophies. However beyond these mediums, we are also working on adding less common disciples, for example 3-D ceramic artists and paper mache creators. Stay tuned!
Makers
Our makers are artists who we find inspiration, both in their professionally and personally. What this means is that we select artists with whom we share similar values and philosophies. Our artists all produce one-of-a-kind pieces and pay homage to their craft via their work. In addition, our artists have a collective respect for the environment and practice sustainability. Finally, our artists all have a unique story to tell, and their objects are the vessels that carry those tales.
Of course, we love sharing our makers' stories because like you, we find our artists fascinating. So..... on the Trove website, each maker has a specific page where we share our artists' background, artistic inspirations, and sometimes even their favorite music. If there is more that you would like to learn however, please do not hesitate to reach out directly to us.
Shipping
Unfortunately, because of the care and attention that we give to each purchase and because these pieces are all one-of-a-kind items, we are not able to accept returns. However, if your object arrives damaged, please let us know immediately. Thank you for your understanding.
The time it takes to receive your treasure varies; however, we plan on being very deliberate with the wording that is written alongside the item description. Please note that, as someone very wise once said, "You can't rush creativity." Thus, we are confident that our clients understand that they ARE in fact purchasing art; and as such, pieces take time to dry or harden, for example. The long and the short of it is this... items available will be shipped within 1-2 business days and items that are "processing," will be shipped as soon as they are ready.
Shipping and handling costs vary greatly depending on the size and fragility of the piece. Due to their delicate nature, many of our items require special care when shipped. Along with the makers, we take every precaution to ensure that your prized possession will arrive to you safely. Nonetheless, you will never be blind-sighted by exorbitant fees; your S&H fees will be calculated upon checkout.
