Ceramicah

Ceramicah is a Los Angeles-based lighting design studio founded by partners in work and life, Micah Blyckert and Alexandra Cadiz. Their ability to create pieces that expertly balance architectural precision with the warmth and character of human touch has made their work a staple among AD100 designers, used in bespoke homes and hotels around the world, and featured in publications from AD to Vogue. Blyckert brings a maker’s curiosity to the studio, operating from a deep desire to understand how things work, while Cadiz shapes the emotional world around their pieces – the story, the mood and the experience of the brand. Together they take a holistic approach to design, considering every element from the quality of light, to the texture of a material, to the scale of how a piece sits within a space, always guided by the belief that surrounding yourself with beautiful, handcrafted objects has the ability to create more joy and inspiration in daily life.

Why we love Ceramicah

Lighting is often where craft can get lost in function, but with Ceramicah, the opposite happens. Each lamp feels like a sculpture first, and a light source second. Specifically, material is allowed to lead the experience of light. In the unglazed versions, the clay is left exposed, revealing its natural texture and tone. The light doesn’t just illuminate the room, it interacts with the surface, absorbing and diffusing in a way that feels warm and atmospheric. In contrast, the glazed finishes introduce a different mood entirely... smooth, reflective, and sometimes even iridescent. Ceramicah pieces are more than just functional objects; they are anchors within a space, shaping not just how a room looks, but how it feels.
