Da'at Totem Vessel

The Da’at totem vessel is entirely handcrafted using coiling and sculpting techniques to achieve its asymmetrical and generous curves. The surface is handsanded before the bisquet firing cycle. A white glossy glaze is applied in different levels of thickness. High fired at 1280°C. Water tight. Made from white stoneware and glazed, made in Paris.

Lucia Mondadori (b.1981) is a Brazilian ceramic artist based in Paris. Her sculptural work explores the aesthetic interplay between the organic and the symbolic. In a language of rounds and curves, where brut stoneware meets refined glaze work, the forms are voluptuous, sometimes totemic, always serene. In her work, Lucia investigates and celebrates our relationship to the senses and to femininity, whether experienced or observed, and weaves her themes into unique pieces that strive to combine the useful, the beautiful and the sacred.
