Pink Mermaid Jug

Sale price$1,598

This hand built jug is inspired by the female form; as such it has a strong feminine energy with its soft belly and the long elegant body. There is a similarity to a mermaid's tail fish scale motif. The unique look is a function of the decoration being carved when the clay was still soft. After the first firing, the motif was inlaid with the zinc and chrome oxide containing glaze. To finish off the piece, it was then covered with a titanium and rutile oxide containing crater glaze. The piece was fired to 1280 °C.
