The Roosting Vase was inspired by a walk through the forest. Nathalee came upon a woodpecker pecking at a tree and she noticed that the woodpecker had made many nesting holes in the bark. This imagery carried forth to the vase that also has holes in the form. Nathalee invited you to playfull place stems in the holes... as homage to a bird's nest.

Nathalee Paolinelli is a ceramic artist based in Vancouver British Columbia. She runs a studio in Strathcona where she is pushing the limits of what she thinks clay can be. She is self taught and is always experimenting and developing new techniques that suit her paper thin forms. Nathalee draws her inspiration from the essence of nature and captures life in each of her ceramic pieces. The ceramics transcend the spaces around them into organic coexistence.
