Chous Ceramics was founded by Despina and Giorgos Chous. The couple is passionate about bringing the beauty of hand-built ceramics to art enthusiasts worldwide. Despite Despina's background in industrial management and banking and Giorgos' background in graphic and web design, they've seamlessly combined their unique skills to create a ceramic studio where art and innovation converge. Despina and Giorgos are inspired by the desire to create truly meaningful pieces.
As their family grew, Despina felt a strong pull towards a more creative and fulfilling life; as such, she left her banking career to pursue her passion for ceramics. With his eye for aesthetics and expertise in design, Giorgos brought a fresh perspective to the handmade pieces. Chous Ceramics opened in the couple's hometown of Sparta, Greece... this felt like the perfect next step! Despina and Giorgos are devoted to creating authentic works of art that celebrate the beauty of nature and human beings' creative spirit.
Iliotropio ll
As one of the most compact creations in the Iliotropio series, Iliotropio II captures the Mediterranean ethos of turning toward the sun within an intimate, understated scale. fields at dawn. The result is a piece defined by natural rhythm, movement, and an unmistakable organic freshness. The low, wide silhouette rests light on its base, opening upwards as if designed to gather ambient warmth. A long, clean arc forms the rim, punctuated only by a single architectural notch that adds a moment of visual pause. Crafted from grog-rich stoneware and finished in a velvet-matte yellow slip, the textured surface softens the vibrant pigment into a warm, sun-baked clay tone, radiating joy and pure simplicity.
