Silhouette Vase 07 is hand-built in black clay that is left raw in texture both inside and outside. The Tunnel Series includes sculptural vessels that are inspired by organic forms and focus on lines and movements. Silhouette Vase 07's raw, grainy texture contrasts with the smoothness of its glazed interior. The surface is finished with a natural slip wash which creates an earthy color variation that evokes mineral landscapes. The circular cutout is both void and gesture, a sculptural detail that invites light and shadow to interact with the form. With the Tunnel Series, imperfections are embraced a part of the making process.
