Volta Lamp

Sale price$1,200

Some forms are so old they feel discovered rather than made. Volta begins with unglazed clay — raw, dark, untreated — shaped into a dome that sits somewhere between a mushroom cap, a chapel vault, and a hill at dusk. No glaze. No shade. Nothing between the material and the room it stands in. The light lives underneath it. Warm, hidden, dimming to almost nothing. The dome becomes a sky. Handbuilt unglazed clay. Integrated LED with dimmer.

About the Maker

Studio Trent Kendrick

Trent Kendrick is a Chicago-based lighting designer and ceramicist. A fourth generation maker, he studied interior design at Harrington College of Design and has built a practice rooted in handmade work — ceramics, lighting, and paintings — all made by hand in his Chicago studio. Each lighting piece is hand-built, combining materials like ceramic, brass, and natural fibres, and designed to feel more like an object than a fixture.
