Silhouette Vase 01

Silhouette Vase 01 is hand-built in white clay that is left raw in texture; the vase in glazed on the interior to allow for functionality. The Tunnel Series includes sculptural vessels that are inspired by organic forms and focus on lines and movements. Silhouette Vase 02's raw, grainy texture contrasts with the smoothness of its glazed interior. The surface is finished with a natural slip wash which creates an earthy color variation that evokes mineral lanscapes. The circular cutout is both void and gesture, a sculptural detail that invites light and shadow to interact with the form. With the Tunnel Series, imperfections are embraced a part of the making process.
